Info...

We are going to call her "Milly". We picked out her name pretty easily & fairly early into my pregnancy.  It could have been a bad scene if we had had a boy because that name was giving us a hard time so thank goodness we had a girl!
Her name is a mix of both of our families.  Camille is Cyrus' grandmother's middle name and was her grandmother's name too.  GG (as her great-grandchildren call her) is Milly's only great-grandparent so we wanted to them to share something & we love the name Camille.  Benton is a family name on my Dad's side.  It was the middle name of his great-grandfather and also of one of my dad's uncles.  We just liked the way it went together with Camille.

(August 12th) D Day has arrived...

My Dad & Katie came over to take "the picture" & then it was off to try again!!

We almost had the same thing hapen to us - they actually said the words "you may have to go home & come back later" because they were full again - but I guess my body wasn't going to let that happen because contractions started up so they decided to keep us & start things in a postpartum room.  I still hadn't dialated any further so they started me on Cyctotek to get things going.  It's supposed to be administered by cuting 1 pill into 4 parts & giving 1 part every 3 hours but it worked so well on me that after 1 part my contractions were coming regularly & I was 2 cm dialated so they stopped that drug & moved us over to a Labor & Delivery room.  My parents & sisters did get to come see us & brought Cyrus lunch before we were moved though which was nice (that wouldn't have been possible if we'd been in L&D already).
Once we got to our room our head nurse came in & it was someone I knew!  Meredith & I had gone to church growing up together & her Mom was my favorite Sunday School teacher (although we hadn't seen each other in years).  So right away I knew that things were going to go smoothly & it was going to be a good experience - whew!
When my contractions started coming closer & became more painful I was too nervous about getting the epidural too soon (I was only at 3 cm) so I chose to be given Statall instead.  It's supposed to take the edge off the pain & make me feel kinda loopy.  Well it worked!  I felt like I was really drunk - had trouble talking & making sense - it was pretty funny.  Once that began to wear off the pain got intense.  I took it until I couldn't hold back tears any longer &then asked for the epidural.  My anesthesiologist was amazing!!  She blew right in, prepped me, gave me the shot & left without hardly talking to me which sounds bad but it actually was great - so fast & painless!  So we were told that after you get an epidural things slow down & it takes longer for the baby to come (it could take 1 hour per cm of dialation) - not the case with us!!  I still had 7 more cm to go until baby at this point :(  BUT...I fell asleep (man that shot is awesome!) for an hour, they woke me up to check me - 4 cm - then I slept for another hour & when they checked me that time I was completed dialated & they said it was go time!  The next thing we knew the room was filling up with nurses & the doctor came in & got ready.  We were excited but nervous too.  Ends up we didn't need to be because 27 minutes later...
